Cummins K50 & QSK23 Tune Ups / Valve Adjustments

Client requested tune ups to be completed on Cummins K50 and QSK23 power station generator engines due to excessive valve train noise. Numerous issues including valve recession, cylinder liner damage and camshaft follower failures were identified before major breakdowns occurred which allowed maintenance to be scheduled while maintaining base load power needs.

Cat Gas Engine Faults and Poor Oil Samples

Client requested inspection of a Cat G3512H gas engine due to high copper in oil samples and occasional misfire codes logged in ECU. Upon inspection a crack was found in the gas line which was allowing contaminants to bypass the air filter and enter the turbocharger. Additionally several burnt spark plug transformer extensions were found which was likely the cause of the misfires.
